Job summary

ProMedica is seeking a Phlebotomist at Flower Hospital Laboratory to collect specimens and perform testing while caring for patients during the collection process. The role emphasizes pre-analytic prep, sample handling, and adherence to asepsis standards.

The candidate should have a phlebotomy credential or hospital rotation experience, with leadership skills to train newer associates. This is a part-time, night-shift position with 16 hours per week and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Diploma from an accredited phlebotomy training institute OR one year phlebotomy experience.
• Completion of an academic program with substantial practical clinical phlebotomy experience (3+ week rotation in hospital).

Responsibilities

• Collect products and/or specimens for procedures and perform testing.
• Care for the patient before, during and after collection.
• Perform pre-analytic tasks: sample preparation, centrifugation, decanting, distribution and packaging.
• Use quality assurance data to improve services and address quality issues.
• Follow asepsis and antisepsis principles and assist in training new associates or students.
