Qualifications

• Completion of certification program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and skin puncture according to SOP.
• Identifies patients using two identifiers and labels specimens.
• Transcribes orders from outside providers as needed.
• Responds to code teams as required.
• Maintains inventory and notifies leadership of low supplies.
• Delivers specimens to the correct lab section.
• Ensures specimens are updated with collection date/time and collector.
• Adheres to universal precautions and safety policies.
• Answers phones with customer service focus.
• May work weekends and holidays as assigned.
