Job summary

LCMC Health is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomy role based in the Greater New Orleans area. The position handles waived testing, specimen collection, and basic lab support under standard procedures.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, labeling with two identifiers, order transcription as needed, and assisting with QA activities. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential for patient care and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Previous lab assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived patient testing.
• Performs venipuncture and skin puncture per SOP.
• Transcribes orders from outside providers as necessary.
• Responds to code teams as needed.
• Notifies staff when QC values are not met.
• Ensures specimens are labeled with two patient identifiers.
