Job summary

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy training or in-house training within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks to obtain blood samples for testing.
• Identifies patients and follows procedures for collection of specimens.
• Enters collection data into the laboratory system with time drawn, time received, and correct phlebotomy code.
• Collects chain of custody urine drug screens.
• Picks up samples from nursing units as required.
