Job summary

HCA Florida Capital Hospital in Tallahassee is seeking a Pharmacy Technician II for night shifts to ensure accurate medication preparation, dispensing, and safe pharmacy operations in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires hospital pharmacy experience, IV certification, and active state registration; you will maintain inventory, assist in billing, and interact with hospital staff to support patient care and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• IV Certification required.
• National Certification (CPhT) preferred.
• Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with State Board.
• CPhT exam must be obtained within 6 months of start date.
• State Registration/License/Intern status required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain medication inventory, storage and security per regulatory requirements.
• Accurately prepares and maintains required documentation logs and safety checks.
• Interact in person and by phone with hospital personnel.
• Perform basic billing functions.
• Accurately perform required calculations.
• Accurately and safely compound and label medications and parenteral admixtures.
• Accurately packages and prepares medications for dispensing and transports medications and supplies to appropriate areas.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

IV Certification

National Certification (CPhT) preferred

Active Registered Pharmacy Technician

CPhT exam within 6 months
