Job summary

Harborview Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacy Technician 2 for the Inpatient Pharmacy, part-time 35 hours weekly with a night shift. The role involves specialized technical pharmaceutical functions, supporting medication distribution systems, and working under a pharmacist supervision.

Requirements include six months of Pharmacy Technician I experience and Washington state certification. A pre-employment drug screen is required as UW Medicine maintains a drug-free workplace.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician I or equivalent education/experience.
• State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification.
• Pre-employment drug screen is required as UW Medicine is a drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties of a Pharmacy Technician I.
• Tech checker certified to check medications filled by other technicians via PIMS.
• Pre-check bulk to unit dose medications and CNR items.
• Assist with prioritization of tasks and workflow improvements.
• Vault procedures, processing, and documentation.
• Perform weekly controlled substance inventories.
• Follow IV room and HD/chemotherapy policies (USP 797/800).
• Safe and timely preparation and delivery of IV HD/chemotherapy and non-HD preparations.
