Job summary

Harborview Medical Center in Seattle seeks a Pharmacy Technician 2 to join our Inpatient Pharmacy team. The position involves routine tasks, specialized technical functions, and serving as a resource for medication distribution systems under supervision of a registered pharmacist.

The role requires a pre-employment drug screen and WA state Pharmacy Technician certification; rotating/fixed full-time schedule is 40 hours weekly with a rotating shift.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Technician I or equivalent education/experience.
• State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties of a Pharmacy Technician I.
• Tech checker certified to check medications filled by other pharmacy technicians via PIMS.
• Assist pharmacy staff with prioritization of assigned tasks.
• Assist with workflow improvements.
• Proficiently perform all vault procedures, processing, and documentation.
• Perform weekly controlled substance inventories in vault.
• Follow IV room and HD/chemotherapy policies including USP 797 and USP 800.
• Safely prepare and deliver intravenous HD/chemotherapy agents and non-HD preparations.

Education

Six months of experience as Pharmacy Technician I or equivalent education/experience
