Job summary

University Health's Perinatal Services team is seeking a registered nurse for Labor & Delivery at Lakewood Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. This weekend-only role (6:45 PM–7:15 AM) offers 24 hours per week in a dynamic, patient-centered environment.

You'll provide hands-on care across triage, antepartum, labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum, mentor new nurses, and contribute to care standards and quality improvement.

Qualifications

Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Active Missouri RN License in good standing.
BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification (current).
Completion of AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Course.
Clinical confidence in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum, and OB triage.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on nursing care through every stage of childbirth.
Perform thorough assessments, develop care plans, and advocate for patients.
Be a mentor for new nurses, supporting onboarding and skills testing.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based care.
Participate in committees, education initiatives, research, and quality improvement.
