Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa in Des Moines, IA, seeks a Charge RN for the Progressive Care Unit Nights. Full-time, 36 hours per week, night shift 7 PM–7 AM. Relocation incentive eligible and a generous night shift differential are offered.

The RN will provide individualized, high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages, leading a team and coordinating care across admission, transfer, and discharge while adhering to policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current or compact state licensure as a registered nurse issued/defined by the State of Iowa
• 1 year of nursing experience required for the Day Shift
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter training
• Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certified within six (6) weeks of hire)

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.
• Practices safe patient handling techniques.
• Continues to evaluate assigned patients and provides ongoing treatment.
• Anticipates, identifies, and responds to educational and emotional needs of patients and families.
• Guides and directs healthcare personnel in caring for patients.
• Maintains knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use and uses safeguards to maximize patient safety.
• Initiates emergency support measures such as CPR.
