Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa is hiring a Charge RN for the Progressive Care Unit on the Night shift. This full-time position offers a 7 PM–7 AM schedule, 36 hours per week, and relocation incentive eligibility.

You will provide individualized nursing care, supervise patient care teams, and ensure safety using the Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. A 1-year RN experience and current Iowa license are required, with BLS certification due within six weeks.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current Iowa RN license.
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience.
• Mandatory Reporter and abuse training within specified timelines.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certified within six weeks.

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized, high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages.
• Leads and coordinates patient care with the team during admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Ensures safe patient handling and evaluates treatment plans.
• Addresses educational and emotional needs of patients and families.
• Directs Patient Care Technicians in patient care activities.
• Maintains equipment setup and safety features to maximize patient safety.
