Job summary

Stormont Vail HealthCare, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (Safety Monitor) to support bedside nursing on the night shift in Topeka. The role focuses on monitoring patient status, assisting with basic ADLs, documentation, and ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment under supervision.

Requires 1 year of customer service, completion of safety/monitoring competency within 90 days, and First Responder - RQI within 90 days. Prior patient care is preferred.

Qualifications

• Complete Safety Monitor/Patient Sitter competency checklist within 90 days of hire.
• 1 year of customer service experience.
• Direct patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements identified plan through coordination of care with interdisciplinary team to promote health and wellness.
• Obtains verbal report from the patient’s nurse and records identified care needs and condition changes.
• Communicates data and information promptly to the nurse as needed.
• Assists with ambulation, activities of daily living, hygiene and comfort while ensuring safety and infection prevention.
