Job summary

Henry Ford Hospital in Rochester, MI, part of Henry Ford Health, seeks a part-time Patient Access Specialist (32 hours/week) for the night shift (11:00 PM–7:30 AM) to support patients and visitors.

You will perform registration, verify insurance eligibility, manage cash collection, and address inquiries with professionalism, updating records and guiding patients through pre-registration in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in patient admitting/registration preferred.
• EPIC training/experience preferred.
• Insurance payor systems experience preferred.
• ICD-10 terminology experience preferred.
• Strong computer skills and MS Office proficiency.
• Ability to meet customer service standards with patients, visitors and staff.
• Must be willing and able to instruct others.
• Able to handle fast-paced environment with interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient reception and face-to-face check-ins.
• Conduct pre-registration and insurance eligibility verification.
• Handle cash collections and inquiries with professionalism.
• Update patient records and address questions.
• Advocate for patients to ensure their needs are met and foster trust.
