Job summary

The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus seeks a Patient Representative for the third shift to support families and respond to concerns in the Specialty Waiting Area. The role emphasizes empathetic communication and proactive customer service interventions to promote patient satisfaction.

You will coordinate with the Emergency Department team, registration, and security, while documenting interactions and updates for leadership review.

Qualifications

• HS Graduate or Equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in customer service and ability to collaborate across the organization.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient, family and visitor concerns with empathetic communication.
• Provide non-clinical and clinical information when appropriate to families and visitors.
• Document interactions and maintain a log of complaints/issues daily.
