Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff during the 12-hour night shift. The role focuses on safe, patient-centered care, documentation, and collaboration with Registered Nurses to monitor changes in patient conditions.

The position requires completion of a nursing program semester or completion of a medical assistant/PCT program, with certain certifications qualifying as substitutes. Remote work is not applicable; onsite only.

Qualifications

Successfully completed first semester in an accredited nursing program.
Completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
A related clinical certification may substitute for the education requirement.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with care team to implement the plan for patient care.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to achieve expected outcomes.
Communicate pertinent patient data to staff in a timely manner.
Promote infection prevention through standard precautions and hand hygiene.
Assist with activities of daily living and basic measurements (weight, height, vitals).
Provide care guided by compassionate, patient-centered approaches.
