Stormont Vail Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Admissions Pending unit in Topeka, KS. The role supports the care delivery team under the direction of a Registered Nurse to provide delegated patient care and maintain a safe, patient-centered environment.

The ideal candidate has completed nursing program coursework or a PCT/CMA program, with certifications that may substitute for education requirements.

Qualifications

• Completed first semester in an accredited nursing program or completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• Active certifications (e.g., PCT, CMA, CMA-A, CNA, EMT) may substitute education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with delegated direct patient care interventions.
• Document care provided and report pertinent observations to the RN.
• Provide ADL assistance, monitor patient conditions, document vital signs and reports changes to staff.
• Promote infection prevention and standard precautions in patient care.
• Maintain safe environment and effective workflow within the care delivery team.
