Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Surgery unit in Norfolk, VA. This is a Full Time, Night Shift (12-hour shift) position working 7:00 PM–7:00 AM with three shifts per week and rotating weekends.

Responsibilities include providing patient care, assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, mobility, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing, EKG testing, IV procedures, and accurate charting under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required and CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or related credential.
• CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent healthcare credential preferred.
• Experience in patient care settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Monitor vital signs and assist with mobility and ambulation.
• Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing as directed.
• Conduct EKG testing and handle specimen collection.
• Document patient status accurately and report changes to RN.
