Job summary

Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician to support post-operative patients on the Post Op Recovery Unit. This full-time night shift role emphasizes ERAS, early mobility, incentive spirometry use, and assisting patients with meals and daily activities.

As an unlicensed staff member, you work under the supervision of a registered nurse to deliver delegated nursing tasks, observe patient conditions, and help with admissions and discharge while upholding patient

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Minimum requirements: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, US Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services credentials, or clinical program participation.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Support admissions and discharge processes.
• Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report changes to the nurse.
