Job summary
Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Post Op Recovery Unit. This full-time night shift (6pm–6am) role supports early mobility and recovery processes for post-op patients, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
The unit focuses on ERAS and safe patient handling. The role requires a high school diploma, BLS certification within 90 days, and one of several eligible programs or credentials (CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps School,
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
- One of: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps School, EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic, or clinically current RN/LPN/RT/PT student in program with one semester completed, or prior PCT/Nursing Assistant experience within 3 years
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care under supervision of a nurse.
- Support admissions and discharge processes.
- Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report changes to the nurse.
