Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Patient Care Technician to join our team and support nursing staff during 12-hour shifts. The role involves basic patient care, vital signs, and assistance with activities of daily living for patients, under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Nursing students who have completed one clinical rotation.
• CNA, CMA, EMT, or nursing student with one clinical completed (one semester) required.
• CPR – Basic Life Support (AHA) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic nursing care activities under RN supervision, including vital signs and recording intake/output.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Report abnormal findings to nursing staff.
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Prioritize unit workflow and adapt to changing unit needs.
• Serve as liaison between patient care units and other departments.
