Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support Registered Nurses in delivering direct and indirect patient care across units in Chicago. You will assist with admissions, monitor vital signs, perform phlebotomy under supervision, and help with daily activities.

This role emphasizes patient-first care, teamwork, safety, and compliance with policies. You will participate in newborn and adult care tasks, document changes, and respond to patient needs promptly.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or current enrollment in nursing school.
• CPR certification by the American Heart Association.
• Health and Safety Training completion is required.
• Healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care activities under RN supervision.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
• Take and record vital signs, monitor patient status, and document changes.
• Support newborn and adult patients with daily activities and hygiene.
• Respond to patient call lights promptly and ensure comfort and safety.
