Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician I for the Southbridge, MA location. This full-time, on-site role supports licensed clinicians, provides patient care, monitors vital signs, and assists with daily living activities on the night shift.

The position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and clear communication with the nursing staff, with required High School/GED and Basic Life Support certification within 30 days."

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school education or GED.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30-days as a condition of employment.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Basic computer skills and basic medical terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides clear, timely communication to the RN regarding observations and changes seen in patients.
• Assists patient with daily living activities and mobility.
• Maintains patient safety and conducts vital signs and measurements.
• Performs EKGs, POC tests, bladder scanning, and collects specimens for lab transport.
• Assists with treatments and procedures under supervision and supports unit operations.
