Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• Must possess one of: nationally certified patient care technician, WVUM Patient Care Technician program, or CNA certification.
• OH and WV Nurse Aide registry/certification requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Observe and report patient concerns to a registered nurse immediately.
• Assist RN with admission, transfer, discharge, and routine care.
• Record vital signs and assist with hygiene and comfort.
• Assist in specimen collection and other activities.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment to prevent infections.
• Report equipment repairs promptly.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Communicate nutrition issues to the RN.
• Assist department with administrative tasks.
• Answer patient call bells and relay messages.
