Job summary

Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Medicine Unit on nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). The role works under the supervision of registered nursing staff to perform delegated nursing tasks for adult patients with diverse diagnoses.

Qualified candidates may be graduates of CNA/NCMA/NCPCT programs or equivalent, with Emergency Services training (EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic) or RN/LPN/RT/PT clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Sentara Care Partner Certification Program or CNA/NCMA/NCPCT or equivalent.
• Completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School or Emergency Services training (EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic).
• Current student in a clinical program with relevant nursing/healthcare experience within last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a professional nurse, implement delegated nursing care tasks.
• Provide care for adult patients (18+) with acute or chronic conditions on the Medicine Unit.
• Assist with activities of daily living and essential patient care tasks, including EKGs and blood draws.
