Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join the Medical Surgical Unit at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer, MA. The role supports daily patient care, monitors vital signs, and assists with mobility and ADLs, working nights on a 36-hour week across three 12-hour shifts.

You'll collaborate with nurses and physicians, document observations, and respond to emergencies while delivering compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS CPR certification through American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, age-appropriate patient care including activities of daily living, mobility, and personal care.
• Monitor and document vital signs, weights, intake/output, and report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with treatments, procedures, dressing changes, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and physician examinations.
• Provide one-to-one observation as needed and respond to emergencies.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team to ensure patient-centered care.
