ProMedica Defiance Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Med Surg Unit on the night shift.

This part-time role offers 24 weekly hours and supports direct patient care, clerical tasks, and coordination of procedures and transfers. The PCT will assist with vital signs, specimen handling, and patient transport, while ensuring safety, infection control, and efficient operation of the unit.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate.
• Skills: Clerical skills, computer skills and ability to use office equipment.
• Experience or coursework in medical terminology required or pass medical terminology test.
• Ability to pass competencies of the position.
• Must have an even temperament and pleasant personality.
• Ability to handle frequent contacts with a variety of individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care as part of the patient care team.
• Perform clerical duties and transcribe orders as directed.
• Assist with scheduling, admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Transport patients and supplies as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control practices.
