Job summary

Prisma Health in West Columbia is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Tech to support RNs in daily patient care in the Med - Surg unit at Baptist Hospital. The role involves hygiene, feeding, mobility, and vital signs documentation during Night shifts in the United States.

Training and certification are required within 90 days of hire. Ideal candidates have prior nursing assistant or medical assistant experience, and may hold CNA or CMA credentials.

Qualifications

• This role requires completion of a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or Nursing Fundamentals course.
• Previous nursing assistant, medical assistant or related experience preferred.
• One year hospital clerical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, hair washing, teeth brushing and hand washing.
• Assist with nutrition and feeding; set up meal trays and assist with feeding as needed.
• Assist with ambulation and fall prevention under RN direction.
• Assist with elimination needs and monitor inputs/outputs.
• Complete and document vital signs and report abnormal values to RN.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
