Job summary

Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC, seeks a Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Tech to support the Registered Nurse in meeting basic patient needs. You will assist with hygiene, feeding, mobility, elimination, and vital signs documentation.

This role requires completion of a nursing assistant, CMA or CNA program and a high school diploma; prior hospital clerical experience is preferred. Night shift opportunities are available and the team is committed to compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Completion of Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or Nursing Fundamentals course.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year hospital clerical experience preferred.
• In lieu of school verification, CNA certification may be accepted.
• In lieu of school verification, CMA certification may be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Assists patient with personal hygiene (bathing, hair, teeth, hands).
• Assists with nutrition and feeding; sets up meal trays.
• Assists with ambulation and fall prevention under RN supervision.
• Assists with elimination and monitors inputs/outputs.
• Records vital signs and reports abnormalities to RN.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
