Job summary

Prisma Health Baptist Hospital in Columbia, SC seeks a Nursing Assistant to support the Registered Nurse by performing routine assistive tasks and meeting basic patient needs in the Med - Surg area.

You will assist with personal care, feeding, mobility, elimination, and documentation, while monitoring vital signs and reporting any abnormalities to the RN. Day shift responsibilities and hospital teamwork are essential to patient comfort and safety.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Tech, Medical Assistant or Nursing Fundamentals course.
• Experience as a nursing assistant or medical assistant preferred.
• Must successfully complete Prisma Health unit secretary course within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists with personal hygiene including bathing, care of hair and teeth.
• Assists with feeding and meal setup.
• Assists with ambulation and fall prevention under RN supervision.
• Provides toileting assistance and adheres to input/output monitoring.
• Obtains and documents vital signs and reports abnormal values.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
