Job summary

Jackson North Medical Center in North Miami Beach, FL is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the Cardio/Pulmonary department during the night shift. The role reports to a registered nurse and focuses on hygiene, safety, and comfort for a group of patients with diverse needs.

Responsibilities include assisting with basic care, vital signs, positioning, equipment setup, and patient transports, while maintaining clean treatment areas and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or successful completion of GED is required.
• Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Certification program is required. All new hires after 08/09/2020 are required to have a Certified Nursing Assistant License.
• American Heart Association and any additional applicable life support certification may be required at the unit level.

Responsibilities

• Uses a systematic process to provide/modify care and patient/family education.
• Assists health care team with simple procedure; prepares supplies/equipment; provides patient/family support and assists with positioning and equipment.
• Performs patient care tasks (vital signs, feeding, mobility, hygiene) and uses appropriate equipment as needed.
• Prepares and cleans exam rooms and treatment areas; transports patients when needed; maintains organized storage and assists with office duties as needed.
