Job summary

Jackson Health System in Miami, FL is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support nursing staff under RN supervision. The role covers hygiene, safety, nutrition, elimination and comfort needs for a patient group, following unit procedures and CARE values.

You will assist with basic care tasks, participate in routine patient education, transport patients, and help maintain the cleanliness of treatment areas. A CNA license and GED/HS diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Certification program is required.
• All new hires after 08/09/2020 must have a CNA license.
• AHA Life Support certification may be required at unit level on hire with validity and maintenance at JHS.

Responsibilities

• Uses a systematic process to provide/modify care and patient/family education.
• Assists with simple procedures; prepares supplies and equipment; provides patient/family support.
• Performs basic patient care tasks (vital signs, feeding, mobility, hygiene, etc.).
• Transports patients to treatment areas as needed.
• Cleans exam rooms and treatment areas between patients.
• Assists with office duties as needed.
• Follows and performs unit-specific policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates CARE values: Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise.
