Job summary

Avera Behavioral Health Center-Sioux Falls is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PRN) for straight nights from 7p to 7a at the Sioux Falls location. The pay range is $18.00 - $23.50 hourly, dependent on experience, with duties focused on direct patient care and support under the supervision of a nurse or physician.

Responsibilities include ambulating patients, assisting with activities of daily living, handling supplies, coordinating appointments, and responding to patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, direct patient care: ambulating, bathing, feeding and attending to care needs.
• Greets visitors, answers inquiries, direct assistance, and relays messages.
• Ambulates patients, assists in/out of wheelchairs and measures inputs/outputs.
• Answers telephone, operates paging system, and assists during emergencies.
• Prepares requisitions for diagnostic/therapeutic services and coordinates appointments.
• Requests services (chaplain, social services, pastoral care) as directed.
• Performs clerical duties related to admissions, transfers and chart preparation.
• Maintains patient rooms, changes linens and handles routine cleaning.
