Job summary

Avera Behavioral Health Center-Sioux Falls is seeking a Regular staff member to provide physical and psychological care under RN supervision. The role emphasizes following treatment plans, documenting in EMR, and participating in interdisciplinary teams to support patient well-being.

The position requires 1-3 years related experience and a background in human services; it offers a rotating shift schedule and benefits to support staff and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice, education, behavior analysis, health or social sciences, counseling, liberal arts, or any other human services and/or medical field.
• Associate's Behavioral Health.
• 1-3 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Works with individual patients in a 1-on-1 setting or in a group setting aligned with the inter-disciplinary treatment plan.
• Participates in daily inter-disciplinary team meetings, providing input on patient behaviors and interactions.
• Implements suicide precautions as needed.
• Assesses changes in patient condition/behavior and notifies RN.
• Assists with patient and family programs and maintains patient safety and welfare.
• Assists with activities of daily living care, including vital signs and specimen collection.
• Contributes to creating and modifying nursing care plans and implements therapeutic activities.
• Maintains accurate records in the patient EMR.
• Assesses agitation and participates in behavioral management.
• Supports development of new therapeutic patient groups under oversight.

Education
