Job summary

Avera Behavioral Health Center-Sioux Falls is seeking a Nurse Aide/Personal Care Tech to join the on-call night team. This PRN role supports routine patient care under supervision, including assisting with ambulation, feeding and daily living activities from 7pm to 7am.

Responsibilities include documenting care, responding to call lights, coordinating with nursing staff, and maintaining patient safety and comfort while upholding Avera's CARE standards in a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license required.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and direct patient care: ambulating, bathing, positioning, and feeding.
• Responds promptly to patient call lights and ensures safety.
• Greets visitors, answers inquiries, and assists with mail and errands.
• Ambulates patients and assists with in/out of wheelchairs; tracks intake/output.
• Coordinates appointments and handles related clerical tasks.
• Requests services such as chaplain, social services, and pastoral care.
• Maintains patient rooms and performs routine cleaning.
