Job summary

The role offers exposure to Bariatric, Stroke, Post-surgical, Cardiac and Oncology units and emphasizes ongoing learning, infection prevention, and compassionate patient interactions.

Qualifications

• Completed first semester in an accredited nursing program.
• Completed a medical assistant or patient care technician program.
• Certification may substitute for the education qualifications (e.g., CMA/MA, CNA, EMT, PCT)

Responsibilities

• Implements plan through coordination with the care team to promote health.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary care team to reach expected outcomes.
• Communicates relevant patient data to staff promptly.
• Promotes infection prevention and proper hand hygiene in patient areas.
• Assists with ADLs and records weight, height, vital signs for nurse review.
• Delivers care aligned with caring relationships and respect.
• Fosters a respectful environment supporting professional relationships.
• Advocates for patients in all roles and settings.
• Supports Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in daily work.
• Mentors new PCTs to ensure smooth enculturation.
• Commits to ongoing learning and critical thinking.
