UTMB Health in Galveston seeks a Patient Care Regular staff member to provide essential technical assistance and supportive care across shifts. You will collect vital signs, draw blood, perform EKGs, and assist with daily activities while ensuring patient safety in a busy unit.

Applicants may have completed a Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, Medical Corpsman, EMT training, or UTMB Hospital Aide program, or have two years of direct patient care experience with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Nurse Assistant program.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program.
• Completion of Medical Corpsman program or EMT program.
• Certified MA, PCT, or CNA at time of hire.
• Enrollment in a School of Nursing with first semester clinical concepts.

Responsabilités

• Collects, reports, and documents data: vital signs, height/weight, intake and output.
• Obtains blood samples by venipuncture.
• Acquires 12 lead EKG.
• Performs and reports POCT.
• Assists with patient activities and care as per the plan of care.
• Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality of information.
