Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Patient Care Technician II for a Medical Surgical Unit on night shift. You will provide direct patient care, assist with ADLs, monitor patient conditions, and document findings under a licensed nurse.

Two years of acute care experience is preferred, and an active Texas CNA certification is advantageous. BLS is required within 90 days. This role emphasizes safety, compassionate care, and teamwork within Memorial Hermann policies.

Qualifications

• One year of prior patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Active Texas CNA certification preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of employment.
• Proficiency in core competencies of PCT I and II as outlined by Memorial Hermann.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care for assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Performs activities of daily living support, monitors vital signs, and documents changes.
• Identifies abnormal findings and escalates changes to the nurse promptly.
• Maintains a safe, clean work environment and adheres to safety procedures.
• Supports patient and family centered care and participates in orientation of new staff.
