Job summary

Virtua Health in Mount Holly, NJ is hiring a Patient Care Technician to support patients with daily living activities and assist the healthcare team in delivering compassionate care. You will help with bathing, mobility, vital signs, and basic procedures under RN/LPN supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a PCT/CNA program (or RN basics), and BLS certification. ED positions may require phlebotomy training and EKG skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have completed a PCT course, a fundamentals nursing course in an RN program, Certified Nursing Assistant program, or have worked an equivalent of 1 year of direct patient care.
• BLS certification.
• Phlebotomy training/education is required for the Emergency Department positions.

Responsibilities

• Supports activities of daily living: bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
• Shows standard precautions and safe patient care.
• Performs vital signs, point of care testing, bladder scanning, and Foley care; documents.
• Phlebotomy and EKGs may be performed if certified.
• Communicates changes in patient status to RN/LPN and responds appropriately.
• Reinforces patient and family education and supports satisfaction initiatives.
