Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Part-time Patient Care Tech-Neuro Spine Surgery to support licensed nurses with direct and indirect patient care in a fast-paced unit. Qualifications

• CNA certification or enrollment in nursing school with basic clinical rotations.
• BLS CPR recognition per health guidelines.
• High school diploma required; one year of college or nursing education or equivalent preferred.
• Prior healthcare setting experience recommended.
• Capillary blood glucose monitoring competency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Record vitals and measurements for adults and neonates.
• Perform phlebotomy and basic laboratory tasks.
• Assist with patient care, safety, meals and mobility.
• Support RN with pre- and post-operative care and routine assessments.
