Job summary

Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, Colorado is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support the patient care team and, when needed, serve as a Health Unit Coordinator. This float role covers multiple units including ED, ICU, Tele, MS, OBS, Sitter, with a night shift from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

A 10% shift differential applies. Responsibilities include basic patient care, timely documentation, and collaboration with RNs to ensure quality care.

Qualifications

• Current Colorado CNA license.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Demonstrated basic computer literacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior CNA experience or applicable healthcare experience (preferred).
• Current enrollment in nursing school program (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care (toileting, bathing, feeding, mobility) and respond to patient/family requests with excellent service.
• Record and report patient care findings promptly.
• Monitor patient conditions and seek qualified assistance when needed.
• May perform telemetry duties and function as a patient care attendant across units.
• Transport medications to RNs as required on clinical units.
• Collaborate with RNs and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
