Job summary

Rush Oak Park Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician 1 to support the 6 West Med-Surg unit. Under RN supervision, you will assist patients with activities of daily living, monitoring, and documentation on a 12-hour night shift schedule.

The role requires high school completion, CPR certification, and basic clinical training. Weekend and holiday coverage is expected, with a pay range of $20.00–$24.75 per hour and a 0.6 FTE schedule.

Qualifications

• High School plus specialized training required.
• Entry level experience acceptable; prior formal clinical training encouraged.
• CPR certification required or current.

Responsibilities

• Properly apply safety devices.
• Assist patients with meals and feeding as directed by RN.
• Perform accuchecks 30 minutes before meals or as directed and report results.
• Notify RN of changes in patient condition and maintain therapeutic patient relationships.
