Job summary

St. Joseph’s Health is seeking a Patient Care Associate for the Telemetry unit on the on-site Paterson campus. You will support patients with daily activities, provide essential bedside care, and help maintain a safe, clean environment while performing EKGs and venipuncture under RN supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and BLS, with options for PCA/PCT diplomas or CNA certification as part of the pathway. This is a full-time night-shift opening.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support certification within 6 months of hire
• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year of previous work experience within the last 6 months in a healthcare setting OR
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification OR PCA/PCT diploma with National Health Career Association certification OR
• Enrolled in an accredited nursing school program and has completed Nursing Fundamentals level coursework in lieu of PCA/PCT diploma/certification OR
• Provides evidence of completion in Nursing Fundamental level coursework OR Evidence of Completion in of a Nursing Assistant training program OR
• PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA experience

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Provide basic care to acutely ill patients
• Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment
• Perform EKGs and Venipuncture as directed by the Registered Nurse

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

PCA/PCT diploma or CNA certification

Enrollment in nursing school program (coursework in Nursing Fundamentals)

Evidence of Nursing Assistant training or related coursework
