Job summary

St. Joseph’s University Medical Center on-site in Paterson, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Assistant/Patient Care Technician to assist patients with daily activities, support a safe environment, and perform EKGs and venipuncture under RN supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma, BLS within 6 months, and PCA/PCT or CNA credentials or nursing school coursework. Per diem options available for certain roles.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• PCA/PCT diploma with 6 months to 1 year healthcare experience required or related credentials.
• CNA certification or PCA/PCT diploma with certification acceptable.
• Enrollment in nursing school with Fundamentals coursework accepted in lieu of diploma/certification.
• PCA/PCT, Home Health Aide or CMA experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support certification within 6 months of hire
• PCA/PCT (Patient Care Associate/Patient Care Technician) diploma with 6 months to 1 year of previous work experience within the last 6 months in an healthcare setting OR
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification OR PCA/PCT diploma with National Health Career Association certification OR
• Enrolled in an accredited nursing school program and has completed Nursing Fundamentals level coursework in lieu of PCA/PCT diploma/certification OR
• Provides evidence of completion in Nursing Fundamental level coursework OR Evidence of Completion in of a Nursing Assistant training program OR
