Job summary

North Shore Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Attendant to assist licensed staff with daily living activities, vital signs, and basic clinical tasks in a Hospital setting.

The role supports nursing teams, documents in the Electronic Health Record, and ensures patient rooms are stocked and prepared. Evening shift, with a 32-hour weekly schedule, and a competitive hourly pay range.

Qualifications

• Performs patient care-related duties and clinical functions as assigned, including, but not limited to, performing and documenting point of care, vital signs, EKGs, bathing and other sanitary needs of patients, transferring and assisting with ambulation of patients, 1:1 patient observation for safety purposes, and phlebotomy.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and strong patient/customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and proficient in computer skills to work with EHR.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care-related duties and clinical functions as assigned.
• Assists RN and physicians with exams and treatments as required.
• Completes documentation such as height, weight, intake/output, and blood glucose in EHR.
• Assists patients with food tray setup, eating, and feeding as needed.
• Ensures patient rooms are stocked and cleaned; retrieves and cleans equipment; reports malfunctioning equipment.
