Miami Children’s Hospital in Ft. Lauderdale is seeking a Patient Care Associate to provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the RN, supporting 24-hour hospital operations and ensuring comfort and safety for patients.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, taking vitals, preparing specimens, handling room turnover, communicating changes to the RN, and adhering to protocols while delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

Formación

• Experience in healthcare environment preferred.
• Phlebotomy and EKG experience preferred.
• Strong problem solving, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and follow RN/nursing leadership directions.
• Apply evidence-based practice and service excellence in care.

Responsabilidades

• Receives patient care assignment from the RN and initiates delegated tasks.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and comfort measures.
• Performs vital signs, measurements, and records results in the EHR.
• Renders care under RN supervision and assists with venipuncture and specimen collection.
• Informs RN of changes in patient condition or behavior.
• Restocks supplies and maintains clean patient rooms and nursing areas.
• Promotes cost containment and participates in room turnover.
• Greets patients and families and informs them about NCHS services.
