Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must successfully complete WCH PCA training upon hire.
• If working in ED, EMT or STNA certification required upon hire.
• STNA certification required on Transitional Care Unit.
• No written disciplinary action in last 12 months.
• Maintain current AHA Healthcare Provider BLS card.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports patients via wheelchair, beds, and carts throughout facility.
• Round on patients to identify and meet needs and safety issues.
• Participate in huddles and teamwork with the health care team.
• Provide hygiene care, comfort measures, and follow infection control guidelines.
• Assist with nutrition, elimination and activity/mobility, specimen collection.
• Document care provided in a timely manner and manage supplies.
• Assist admissions, discharges and transfers and support unit flow.
• Operate and clean equipment; report maintenance needs as directed.
