HSHS Medical Group is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for an onsite role at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL. The position is full-time with a 36-hour weekly schedule on the night shift, reporting to the RN and supporting the IMCU unit.

The ideal candidate has a CNA or PCT certification (or 1 year of nursing assistant experience) and must obtain BLS within 30 days of hire. Pay ranges from $18.00 to $25.20 per hour and compensation aligns with experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• 1 year nursing assistant or Patient Care Assistant experience; or 6 months nursing assistant or Patient Care Assistant experience and certification as indicated below.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) is required within 30 days upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, provides direct and non-direct patient care according to their scope of practice.
• Act as a versatile member of the care team, providing clinical support and a comforting presence to help achieve patients highest level of wellness.
• Assigned preceptor duties as needed.
