Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for nights, per diem schedule. You will support patients with daily living activities and assist with basic nursing tasks under the supervision of the RN team.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment and demonstrating compassionate care, with emphasis on teamwork, reliability, and adherence to hospital policies. CNA certification and BLS readiness are required or expected within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required or preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months experience in acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Provide basic nursing care to all patients.
• Maintain a safe environment under the direction of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team/unit.
