Job summary

UF Health Shands Homecare is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Assistant to support licensed nursing staff during 7:00pm–7:00am shifts, totaling 24 hours weekly. The PCA will perform routine tasks under RN supervision and help deliver high-quality patient care with a focus on advocacy and teamwork.

Qualifications include CNA certification or EMT/Paramedic credentials, or active nursing student status with program completion components; NCLEX status considerations apply for current employees.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required for those not enrolled in a nursing program.
• EMT or Paramedic certification acceptable alternative.
• Nursing student in approved program may qualify after fundamentals course work.
• Employees awaiting NCLEX authorization may apply within 90 days post-graduation or after initial NCLEX attempt.
• CNA student in a state-approved program with instructor recommendation may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Functions as an assistant to the RN performing routine procedures under supervision.
• Provides nursing support to achieve patient care goals and advocacy.
