Job summary

UF Health Shands Homecare in Jacksonville is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN during night shifts.

This full-time role offers 36 hours per week, with a 7:00pm–7:00am schedule across Sun–Sat, and emphasizes teamwork, safe patient-centered care, and a clean, orderly environment. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and knowledge of basic medical terminology; ability to learn hospital computer systems is required.

Qualifications

• Teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team.
• Ability to learn and apply hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions, ability to read/write in English, etc.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care.
• Maintains a clean, orderly environment and demonstrates service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.
