Job summary

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for a 36-bed unit serving post-operative and oncology patients. The role covers 12-hour night shifts (6:30pm–7:00am) on varied days, including weekends and holidays, located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and perform EKGs as part of a collaborative clinical team. Previous acute care exposure is preferred, with English proficiency and BLS required.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience under a licensed healthcare provider OR completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school.
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team
• Assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environment
• Assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician
• Supports the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation
